.

To get the ball rolling on a portrait or custom art, just send me an email or a message through the contact page. All you really need to do is let me know your interested, but the more details you can give the better. If you just have some questions or need some clarification that's okay to.

If you would like a detailed description of how the entire process works, from start to finish, please refer to the text below. If you don't really care and just want to get started then you can disregard all of that reading.

Step 1. The Contact
Just shoot me an email to get started.
Here are a few things you may want to include in your email:

  • Name

  • Number

  • Style of Portrait desired

  • Number of people to be included

  • Anything you want exaggerated or diminished (i.e. color, contrast, pimples, big nose, messy hair, etc.)

  • The photo(s) to be used. (This is not required in the initial contact, however it does help to expedite the process)

  • Any questions or concerns

Don't worry if you forget something. The next step is a series of consultation emails/phone calls where we will get all of the details nailed down.

Step 2. The Consult
After reviewing your email I will reply with any thoughts or questions that I have and inquire about the photo(s) that will be used. I may decide to send some rough sketches as well, depending on the type of artwork desired (this is usually the case when the client has special requests that fall outside of a normal style, like wanting a certain color scheme or custom background). After that there will be a few more back and forth emails to make sure that all the bases are covered. At the end of this step you will know the exact cost of your portrait. Also at this stage, you must pay a 30% retainer fee before the portrait is started.

Step 3. The Midpoint Checkup (Optional)
Sometimes clients like to see the progress of the portrait. If that is your desire, I will send you a "proof" somewhere around halfway. This will be your last chance for any major changes.

Step 4. The Final Proof
Once the portrait is complete I will send you a proof for your final approval. Some minor changes can still be made at this point. After your approval, the final 70% of payment is due.

Step 5. The Print
Once all is well and you are 100% satisfied with your portrait, I will send you a link to the website where you can customize your print. You will be able to choose the size and type of paper or canvas, and whether you want it framed, wrapped (for canvas prints), or rolled. As mentioned before, there is additional charge for the prints but never fear, they are modest. As low as $20 for a standard 16" x 20". You do, of course, have the option of just taking your digital file and going to your own printer. It's up to you. But the printer I use is very low cost and good quality, and you will be paying the very lowest price they offer. I do not make money off of the prints themselves.

Step 6. The Wait..............THE DELIVERY!!!!!!
Your portrait should arrive at your door in just a few days! Their is often a longer wait with canvas prints.
